Directions to Morongwa Bush Safaris

There are several roads leading to Thabazimbi.

Route 1

If you live in the North of Johannesburg, take the road to Brits. From Brits it is 140KN to Thabazimbi.

Route 2.

Take the Pretoria/Pietersburg highway and take the Warmbaths/Settlers off ramp (R516). As you approach the City Centre you will see a complex on the left hand side. At the robot turn left and you will see a sign pointing to Thabazimbi/Rooiberg. At the T-Junction turn left and you will pass an Aventura Resort on your left, as you approach the traffic circle, keep left, the road leads to Thabazimbi/Rooberg. (126KM to Thabazimbi) (R516)

Just before you come into Thabazimbi, you will find two stop signs. At the second stop sign, turn left. On the right hand side you will see a petrol station. Last fuel stop before the farm. The road sign will read Ellisras/Sentrum (R510)

Drive on the tar road for 45KM towards Sentrum, the tar road ends and becomes a dirt road. carry on for 9km and you will come to a fork on the road. The sign will read Buffelsdrift/Cumberland. The best road to take at the fork is weather/condition-dependent, we will advise you before you take up the booking. The left fork (to Cumberland) continues about 30 – 40 km, turn right towards “Matjiesfontein”. Another 3 – 4km, you will arrive at the Morongwa Bush Safari sign/ gate on the right hand side. Main camp is 1km from entrance.

The right fork heads to Buffelsdrift, follow the road for 27,7 km. You will pass a church on the right hand side of the road and some supply stores. At the junction, you will see the sign for Cumberland. Turn left and drive for approximately 4.3km

The Morongwa Bush Safari sign will be on the left. The Main camp is 1km from the entrance.
