VCT Service and Health Awareness
On the 21st of September 2012, Sehwai hosted a health awareness day where a Senior Occupational Health Practitioner was invited to come educate, counsel and test all employees out of their free will. Such initiative/awareness programme is set to take place on a yearly basis.
Youth Day Involvement
Sehwai believes in employing and empowering the youth, hence their participation in Youth Day events which took place on the 16th of June. This year, 2012, they participated in the Inter-Schools Athletics day which took place at Tladistaad Village where the local schools played against each other in varying sports such as Netball, Athletics and Soccer.
Bagale Choristers
Bagale Choristers was established in January 2010 in the Bojanala region of the North West in response to the need of a community choir.The choir is under the capable hands of Mr Mohau Mogale.
Our involvement with choir is to play the role of a corporate sponsor, where we offer them financial and morale support.
Hendrik Makapan High Schools
The school has been adopted by Sehwai and we offer them the following on a regular basis:
- Site visits and exposure to the mines
- Addresses from various professionals
- Quarterly guidance and motivational talks
Vacation Work – We offer accounting, engineering and geological students vacation work
We have started giving previously disadvantaged post matriculant students exposure to the tertiary institutions as well as various bursary opportunities in South Africa. One beneficiary of this initiative will commence with his studies in Mining Engineering in 2012.
