Mountain Bike Trails

The mountain bike trails at Misty Valley Mountain Bike Park are graded according to the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) guidelines. Our trails are colour coded, indicating the following:

GREEN – EASY   BLUE – INTERMEDIATE
Green graded trails are suitable for novices, beginners and families. No special skills are required. You must have good health and a reasonable level of fitness. Please take note, we are roughly at 2000m above sea level.   Blue graded trails are suitable for cyclists with some form of mountain biking skills and knowledge. A good level of fitness is necessary.
     
RED – DIFFICULT   BLACK – EXPERT
Red graded trails are suitable for excellent mountain bikers with good off-road skills. A high level of fitness and stamina is required. Please don’t try any sections you are not confident in riding.   Black Diamond trails are suitable for very advanced riders with exceptional skill level and expert knowledge.
     

Stonehenge Trail – Green Route – 5.3km – 79MTR Climbing Elevation

The Stonehenge trail is a fun but interesting trail which includes 7 wooden bridges, single track, farm road and forest track. It winds its way through wonderful rock formations and the Zebra are often on the route to give you directions and technical information.

Lochness Trail – Green Route – 6.4km – 90MTR Climbing Elevation

Lochness is our easiest route with farm roads,sweet single track, 1 bridge and some wonderful scenery. Start with a climb and end with some flowing single track on the descent. Don’t forget to spot the Lochness monster if its really there or just a hoax.

Fingals Forest Trail – Blue Route -  6.6km – 102 Climbing Elevation

Fingals Forest is an intermediate trail with steep short power climbs, some technical single track and some tight forest single track. Don’t forget the 4 bridges and some drop offs to go with the already awesome route.

Shetland Wulver Trail – Red Route – 11.6km – 198 MTR Climbing Elevation

Shetland Wulver – A myth about a man with the head of a wolf that waits in the mist for wandering travellers to pass by and attacks  them with no mercy. Keep your wits about you on this trail.

Ambleside Trail – Green Route – 5.3km – 83 MTR Climbing Elevation

Ambleside is a country town known for excellent hiking, mountain biking and outdoor activities. Enjoy our lower property taking in the splendid views and game. All farm roads.

Hadrians Wall Trail – Blue Route – 7.7km – 116 MTR Climbing Elevation

Hadrian’s Wall was buit by the Roman Empire from mostly rocks and stones for military purposes. On our trail you will spend some time on our natural rocky sections also for your own military puposes – SURVIVAL.

Bike Rentals

Misty Valley Bike Park has partnered with leading bike manufacturers and offer well maintained mountain bikes and helmets to visitors. We offer all popular sizes and also assist with a quick set-up, ensuring that you will enjoy our mountain bike trails safely. We also offer emergency repairs in our technical workshop, making sure something like a broken chain does not impede on exhilaration! Please enquire at reception with regards to pricing on rentals.

MTB Shop

We also offer everything you need for your stay at our shop including clothing, components, tyres and tubes, basic cockpit items, miscellaneous accessories and basic servicing of bikes. Eventually we will be looking at an Online Cycling Shop.
