Energy Saving
Heat pump geysers are growing in popularity by the day and there has to be some reasons for that. These are some:A heat pump does not use an electric element to heat the water. The electricity it uses, goes into driving the fan at the evaporator and driving the compressor. That’s it. And for this it uses less electricity than an electric element inside a geyser. As a matter of fact, it uses 1KW of energy to produce 3KW of energy. A conventional 3KW electric element uses 3KW to produce 3KW of energy. So a heat pump geyser should save you 60-70% (some claim even more than this!) on the water heating consumption.
As compared to solar geysers, which are dependent on good sunshine, heat pumps don’t even need any sunshine; as a matter of fact, the work perfectly well in the middle of the night or in the middle of a rain storm.Granted, installing a heat pump geyser is more expensive than both an electric geyser and a solar geyser. However, the continued spiking in the price of electricity in South Africa makes a heat pump geyser even more of an attractive proposition. Suppliers claim that you will have regained your capital investment in less than 2 years (some even say 18 months) purely on savings on your monthly electric bill.
Solenoid valve
Transforming electrical energy into motion, the solenoid physically starts and stops the water flow. Autotaps products use “latching” solenoid valves. The solenoid valve is initially energized to start the water flow; the plunger is driven into the range of a permanent magnet which in turn holds the plunger in the “open” position. In order to return the plunger into its original “closed” position
the solenoid is once again “pulsed” but this time by reversing polarity.
Infrared sensor component
When the sensor senses the presence of an object (i.e. user’s hands) in front of the tap and sends a signal to the solenoid valve to initiate the flow of water. When the object is no longer present, the infrared unit sends an electronic signal to the solenoid valve again to terminate the flow of water usually after a few seconds.
Power source
Most of our Autotaps models have the possibility to be powered by regular AA batteries (Alkaline) or by mains via a 6V transformer. Batteries and transformers are included with most of our products.
Solid Brass body
The body/shell delivers the water. Autotaps puts special emphasis in design and quality. Even if the tap is electronic it must be in tune with the style of every specific place. Autotaps produces electronic taps with different styles to match every decorative theme.
